From JTR Airport, Port, or your Santorini Hotel, you will pass through a terraced island through Pyrgos and you will reach the highest peak of Santorini – the Mt Prophet Elijah. Here a monastery of the same name was built in 1972. Although you cannot enter the monastery, you can enjoy its magnificent view of the whole island from the southern end of Perissa beach to the northern part of the island where the village of Oia is located.
After the photo stop, you will go to one of the local wineries on the island. Here you can learn about how wines were once produced on the island, as well as a unique way to grow and harvest grapes in Santorini. You can try the most famous wines of Santorini.
Your journey continues to Imerovigli with the Skaros Rock, the ruins of the medieval capital. The formation was created by the volcanic activity of the Santorini caldera and shaped by erosion and earthquakes. Walk around the village and take pictures of its beautiful churches, and once you reach the top of the village, enjoy the magnificent view of Santorini.
On the way, we will make a photo stop in Firostefani, at the famous blue-domed church.
Your last stop is the village of Oia. Oia is the most famous of all the communities in Santorini. It is known all over the world for its quiet life and fantastic sunsets and its undoubtedly the most beautiful and picturesque village in Santorini. This unique place was once a thriving village built of captains and sailors, where you will find one of its cultural attractions, such as the Maritime Museums, which houses a small library, objects from the maritime life of the area, and the remains of a Venetian fortress.
